What We Do
Since 2013 we have been providing out-patient, unmounted equine therapy services to Military, Veteran, First Responder and family groups across the DC Metro region.
Our Mission
The mission of the HorsePower Equine Assisted Learning (HEAL) Foundation is to empower individuals and groups with a safe, professional, and therapeutic equine experience. HEAL supports the limitless emotional growth and healing potential created by the bond between horse and human.

Our Services
Equine Therapy
50 minute sessions with a licensed therapist, certified equine specialist and horses ($60/session)
Individual, Family, Couples & Group therapy
Comprehensive intake ($100) conducted prior to starting services in-person or via televideo
Collaboration with other service providers
100% Confidential, no formal referral is required. We are not VA affiliated in order to reduce barriers to accessing services.
Secure electronic health record with patient portal to ensure confidentiality
Submit to insurance for reimbursement
Equine Learning
Quarter and half-day group and team building sessions
Learn more about equine therapy and what its like to work with horses prior to committing or referring to HEAL for therapy services
Facilitated by equine specialist and therapist for emotional safety to ensure healthy, goal oriented, non-therapeutic boundaries
Sliding scale per person based on financial circumstances of the group and length of session
No Military or First Responder affiliation? When scheduling allows we have rolling admissions for other community members in need.
